Started in 1996, Mud House Wines is a wine producer in New Zealand that focuses on sustainable viticulture, obtaining more than half of its grapes from their own vineyard. Mud House Wines was the creation of founders that loved the climate and environment at Marlborough region of New Zealand and decided to plant grapevines there. The brand’s wines have become incredibly popular and are exported to different countries worldwide.
Mud House Wine is known for its strategic viticulture and winemaking resources that allow them to produce innovative and elegant wines. The winery uses fruits from four different vineyards in New Zealand, including the Woolshed Vineyard in Marlborough and the Waipara Valley vineyards.
The Woolshed Vineyard has a steep slope that allows different fruits to be produced, creating excellent opportunities for Mud House Wines to try new blending options. The Waipara Valley is an ideal location for grape ripening and produces unusually concentrated Pinot Gris and Rieslings. Other than those mentioned, Mud House Wine also produces Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc wines among others.
The Mudhouse Sauvignon Blanc 2015 is an aromatic wine with notes of passionfruit, lemongrass and fresh herbs; with just a perfect hint of flintiness. A wonderfully lively palate with soft grapefruit style acidity. The mid palate is juicy with tropical and herbaceous notes mingling perfectly together. A zesty mouth-watering finish.
