Soetes & Soup 2019

Winter is the time for dessert wines and hearty home made soup. Soetes and Soup is a showcase of the Breedekloof’s finest wines and hearty hospitality and took place on 19 – 20 July 2019 to celebrate winter at the annual Breedekloof Soetes and Soup festival.

This fun-filled event, hosted at the various wineries in the Rawsonville, Slanghoek, Goudini, and Breede River areas, served complimentary cups of steaming homemade country soup accompanied by a glass of red or dessert wine.

This was our first year attending the Breedekloof Soetes and Soup festival and it is not difficult to see why this valley is fast becoming known as “South Africa’s most generous wine route”.

KIRABO PRIVATE CELLAR

Situated in the picturesque Breedekloof valley of Rawsonville, surrounded by magnificent mountains is the boutique red wine cellar – Kirabo.

Kirabo is an African word and it translates as such “A gift from God…” Kirabo has wine in its blood as the Le Roux family have owned it for six generations, each building upon the improvements of the last with the whole family, lovingly involved in every step of the process and in harmony with community and nature.

Kirabo is a boutique red wine cellar – in harmony with community and nature. We produce small quantities of different, red cultivars. All the grapes are handpicked early in the morning, where after the wine is made and wood matured (24 months) to perfection.
