What’s not to love when it comes to sushi and wine? Add a beautiful setting in the winelands with gorgeous views and you have a match made in heaven!

Glenwood Vineyards ticks all the boxes with their Gourmet Sushi Experience. Located in the little known valley of Robertsvlei, a few kilometres from Franschhoek, the farm and winery are surrounded by aspects of outstanding natural beauty.

The drive through the vineyard is spectacular and one can’t help but to stop and capture the beautiful views of the vineyards with mountains creating a stunning backdrop.

The Showcase Wine Tasting is R100 where you get to taste 5 wines:


Straight off the bat it’s crisp and vibrant. A bright and brilliant colour, with a slight green hue. Complex aromas of citrus peel, lime and honey suckle.

On the palate there is a beautiful round comforting texture with wonderful length and intense fruit complexity such as green apple and lime flavours.

This wine’s crisp and refreshing features are perfectly balanced with a subtle creaminess and ends in a lingering finish. Will go perfectly with a nice piece of salmon.


Barrel fermented and matured in new French oak barrels using wild yeast. Stone fruit and citrus on the nose. Full and rich on the palate with a burst of citrus and tropical fruits.

A well-balanced wine with many layers and a lengthy finish. Complex, rich and refined with beautifully integrated oak and a creamy finish.


A beautifully light pink rosé. Fresh and crisp with raspberry and strawberry on the nose.

For each bottle purchased a contribution goes towards Rhino Revolution, a charity dedicated to putting an end to Rhino poaching in South Africa.


Medium-bodied wine with layers of chocolate, plum and mulberry. Full and elegant, with a long conclusion.

The wine matured for 18 months in small, third-fill French oak barrels.


An attractive perfume of berries with hints of white pepper. The palate is savoury with a bright fruity core.

Glenwood donates the profits from the sale of this wine to Rhino Revolution NPOSouth Africa is home to 80% of the world’s rhino population and Rhino Revolution, established in 2011, works to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned rhinos as well as helping protect exisiting rhino populations.


Vibrant and concentrated yet elegant and layered with red and black fruit, ripe earthy tannins and well judged oak in support. Flavoursome, velvety and refined with good length of flavour.

The best quality grapes were selected, gently crushed and fermented in half-ton open-top fermenters. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barrel and was matured for 18 months in 2nd fill French oak to produce a well-integrated, complex profile.


Opt for a bottle of wine and try their sushi for a culinary delight. There are so many yum options that you’ll find it hard to pick. The menu offers a selection of sushi such as hand rolls, vegetarian rolls, fresh fish rolls to their chef’s signature dishes, tempura rolls, combos and platters.
