Paul Wallace Wines and Guest Cottages offer classic charm with contemporary style and comfort. Each have been tastefully refurbished into self-catering accommodation and consists of two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. Great to enjoy with family or friends. Want to spoil your spouse or girlfriend with a weekend for 2? No problem! They also have a cottage suitable for a couple and anything you need to enjoy your stay.
The open plan kitchenette is fully equipped as well as a built-in outside braai. The lounge is nice and cosy with a fireplace for those cold grey winter days.
It’s the perfect location to get away from a busy lifestyle and recharge those energy levels. One of the dogs if not all will be there to welcome you with wagging tails, waiting in anticipation for their cuddles. They will gladly accompany you as you take a stroll up the hill through the vineyards. Oh and nothing beats waking up to the sound of the countryside with a rooster. This is relaxation at its best.
If you are a wine lover like me, then head down to the tasting room for a glass of Malbec… or two! Or opt for a wine and chocolate tasting. Each of the wines is perfectly paired with a chocolate especially designed to complement one another.
Paul Wallace Little Flirt Sauvignon Blanc 2020
A refreshing bouquet that opens up to kiwi, delicious apples and pears in the nose. The palate is complemented by a medley of tropical fruit. It is not surprising that it is called Little Flirt. It’s a delightful and a well-balanced wine that plays with your taste buds and perfect to enjoy on any occasion.
Off The Record Chenin Blanc 2020
An elegant Chenin and pale straw in colour. The nose opens up with notes of citrus blossoms, apple and hints of oak that is followed by a crisp yet perfectly smooth palate. Delivering an amazing creamy, velvety mouthfeel and a classy finish.
Paul Wallace Reflection Chardonnay 2020
This Chardonnay reminds me of a delicious lemon cheesecake with notes of lemons and limes and citrus that carries through to the palate. The minerality and oaky sweetness creates a crisp and elegant wine with great length and finish.
Paul Wallace Braveheart Pinot Noir 2019
Beautiful aromas of strawberries, cranberries and red cherries on the nose with a fruit driven palate. This wine reminds me of my childhood days of red flat lollipops one used to buy in strings at the supermarket. The purity of fruit is embellished by subtle oak and spicy undertones. The perfect wine to enjoy slightly chilled on a hot summer’s day.
Paul Wallace Black Dog Malbec 2018
This is my favourite Malbec. It’s dark and intense, it has poise and is full of character. Black fruit aromas of blue berries and black cherries fill your nose. Somewhat aromatic that is very pleasing and intriguing. The palate is smooth with well-balanced tannins. Expect to find red and black fruit flavours with a hint of spice.
Paul Wallace CrackerJack 2019
This wine is as bright, rich, elegant and full of character as the name itself. A bordeaux blend that consists of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. The palate greets you with red and black fruit flavours, followed by dark chocolate and spice and a savoury finish. A delicious blend and a wine you can easily open whilst sitting on the porch catching the last bit of sunlight.
Off The Record Syrah 2020
The Wallace brothers have added a second wine to their Off The Record range. A newly released Syrah with grapes sourced from the Ceres Plateau. Aromatic notes of red and black fruits, floral and spice. The palate is smooth, vibrant with an elegant texture and savoury finish.
