Seven Springs Vineyards | An Expression of Purity and Character

The Hemel-en-Aarde Valley boasts many award winning vineyards and breathtaking scenery that makes it worth the drive. Leaving you with a feeling of being refreshed and content. It was once said that “so high are the hills, which closely embrace the valley all around, that they seem to touch the sky and you cannot see anything but Heaven and Earth”.

A mere 20 minutes drive from the sea-side town of Hermanus along the R320, on the winding road through the picturesque Hemel-en-Aarde valley and Caledon, is where you would find Seven Springs Vineyard. This boutique wine farm is nestled between the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde and Shaw’s pass near the turn off to Tesselaarsdal.

Named after the seven natural springs of the nearby town of Caledon. The wines at Seven Springs Vineyard express purity and character. They stay true to their varietals, climate and soils. The full range of six wines, only single varietals, are available to taste at their tasting room.

A successful business in the UK enabled husband and wife team, Tim and Vaughan Pearson from England, to follow a dream of owning a wine farm in South Africa. That dream became a reality back in 2006 when, after a number of trips to South Africa and a wide search for the right property, they found the perfect portion of farmland on the R320, just outside of Hermanus via the Hemel-en-Aarde appellations.

Seven Springs Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc

Pale in the glass it has delightful aromas of pineapple, white peach and elderflower. There is an explosion of flavours on the palate that reveal a wine with true elegance and balance.

Seven Springs Vineyards Unoaked Chardonnay

Tropical and citrus aromas. It personifies summef in a glass. Scents and flavours of pineapple and passion fruit are beautifully balanced by lingering minerality.

Seven Springs Vineyards Chardonnay

A delicate nose of honeyed fruit, crisp citrus and subtle toasted oak. Refreshing minerality throughout with a lingering buttered toast finish.

Seven Springs Vineyards Syrah Rosé

Light salmon in colour. This wine reminds me of candy floss. An inviting pink pomegranate colour, with a hint of raspberries on the nose. Watermelon and strawberry fruit flavours initially set the tone, backed up with a medium-bodied, textured mid-palate. This eventually gives way to a bone-dry, long, lingering finish with an uplifting freshness at the end.

Seven Springs Vineyards Pinot Noir

Bright and vibrant in colour with a beautiful balanced red berry flavour and a hint of spice. Excellent finish.

Seven Springs Vineyards Syrah

Crimson in colour it delivers opulent red berries, hints of pepper and spice and understated oak nuances.

The tasting area is intimate and cosy and was definitely a memorable experienc. The journey there, the views down the Tesselaarsdal valley, and the warm and welcoming team will entice you to visit the farm, but it is their wine that will ultimately keep you coming back for more!
