Situated at the Schoon Organic Vineyard and Cellar in Paarl, HER Wine Collection is a testament to the passion and dedication of women in the wine industry.
HER Wine Collection is a celebration of the diversity and strength of women in the world of wine. It’s the first branded wine to come out of Adama Wines, an all-women run wine growing company. In partnership with Bosman Adama, it’s a proudly South African majority black-owned wine company with 30% women’s ownership.
The name HER is a symbol of empowerment, unity and creativity, bringing together women from all walks of life who share a passion for wine. The collection not only celebrates women in the wine industry, but have pledged to contribute 2% of their profits to a scholarship fund to enable young, talented and driven individuals to achieve their dreams.
HER Wine Collection emerged in 2020 as a brand primarily marketed in South Africa while Amandla is another range of wines sold in the UK market. These wines are crafted from sustainably grown grapes sourced from various vineyard locations in the Cape Winelands.
HER Sauvignon Blanc
It is a full-flavoured wine bursting with juicy grenadilla and grape fruit flavours with hints of green apple and freshly cut grass with a crisp, zesty finish on the palate.
HER Chenin Blanc
This wine is bursting with delicious tropical fruit aromas that follow through to tantalising flavours of yellow apple, green melon and white pear on the palate contributing to a delicious, juicy palate.
HER Shiraz
Rich dark berry fruit is perfectly balanced by hints of vanilla and spice to create a complex, appealing wine . This is a medium-bodied wine with substance, lingering long on the palate.
Firm tannins support subtle fruit flavours creating a beautiful wine with strength and complexity. The 2021 vintage was produced in stainless steel tanks, whereas the 2021 a portion of the wine was aged on Hungarian oak for subtle oak influence.
HER Pinotage
Bursting with juicy ripe red berry fruit, elevated by aromatic spicy notes, this is a wine with substance that will linger long on the palate. It contains subtle, velvety tannins that dominate the concentration of juicy fruit flavours in its medium-bodied structure.
The 2020 vintage is elegant with good structure and no wood was added. For the 2021 vintage a portion of the wines was aged in old French barrels for subtle oak influence and the rest was matured in tank.
