One of the highlights of a visit to Spier Wine Farm is undoubtedly the wine tasting journey offered at its elegant tasting room. This tasting room features long tables and beautifully curated shelves with everything you need to taste and enjoy wine at home.
What’s not to love about enjoying a wine tasting or a delicious food platter overlooking the dam and with views of the Helderberg mountains. Settle in and admire the iconic Heath Nash chandelier, made from 334 recycled Spier wine bottles and weighing 370kgs, which hangs as a beautiful centerpiece above the tasting counter.
The tasting room at Spier offers expertly curated tasting flights, allowing everyone who walks through the door to explore a range of wines and discover new favourites. Their team of knowledgeable educators are always available to enhance your tasting journey with expert guidance and insightful information.
All the water on the farm is recycled and used back on the farm. A farm that is steeped in history, their terroir-driven wines and their approach is based on regenerative farming, working with nature to make distinctive tastes out of every carefully picked vine row. Spier has about 20 hectares under vine and all organic.
Start off with a glass of Spier Cap Classique Chardonnay Pinot Noir Brut. Made in the traditional French style with a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes fermented in the bottle. This Cap Classique is full of finesse and energy. There are apples and citrus on the nose woven by a balanced mouthfeel and good acidity on the palate. Absolutely delicious!
Seaward Range
Sourced from South Africa’s top coastal areas with a radius of 10 to 15km from the ocean, this range of single varietal wines express a purity of fruit and a saline minerality, with great concentration, balance and finesse to reward the curious drinker.
Seaward Sauvignon Blanc 2023
This wine exudes a delightful aroma filled with tropical fruits, offering a fresh and invigorating palate that lingers on the finish. Crafted with precision, it harmoniously blends fruity notes to create a memorable and enjoyable drinking experience.
Seaward Chardonnay 2023
The nose reveals inviting aromas of tangerine, lemon zest, peach and citrus blossom, complemented by subtle hints of raw almonds. On the palate, a creamy texture unfolds, showcasing fresh citrus notes. The use of older barrels in the small oak component adds an elegant touch, making this wine a delightful choice for enjoyment.
Seaward Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Vibrant aromas of red and black berries with spice deliver a complex middle palate and balanced freshness. This medium- to full-bodied wine shows beautiful integration.
Seaward Shiraz 2021
Fragrant aromas of blackberry, cassis and blackberry are complemented by delicate hints of pepper and aniseed. The mid-palate reveals a harmonious balance of concentrated fruit flavours and velvety, dense tannins.

Good Natured | Organic Chenin Blanc 2023
It offers a beautiful bouquet of floral, citrus snd stones fruit that follows through onto the palate. There is a burst of exotic fruit like litchi and pineapple that leads to a refreshing and zesty finish.
Good Natured | Organic Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
This blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon bursts with rich, intense flavours of dark blackcurrant and blackberry, accented by subtle hints of allspice and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, it boasts velvety tannins that glide seamlessly to a satisfyingly smooth finish.
Good Natured | Organic Shiraz 2021
This wine showcases a rich depth with intense notes of blackberry, plum and sweet spice reminiscent of cinnamon on a pancake. The palate carries on the red fruit theme, culminating in a soft, smooth finish that lingers pleasantly.
