As you arrive at Creation, you are greeted by the peaceful beauty of their fynbos garden, filled with colourful and fragrant plants. Among the greenery, you’ll notice stunning glass art installations by Red Hot Glass, with bright colours and detailed designs that sparkle in the sunlight, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Curry Green Bean Cos Lettuce Taco, Wild Sorrel

Our culinary experience began with a refreshing glass of Creation Rosé 2024, perfectly complemented by an innovative twist on tacos. Crisp cos lettuce leaves served as delicate taco shells, filled with pea hummus and crowned with tangy pickled curry beans. This delicious bite was elevated by a dollop of tarragon-infused coconut yoghurt, which added a fragrant creaminess and was garnished with vibrant sorrel leaves and a sprinkling of freeze-dried raspberries, providing a subtle tartness and an elegant touch.

Creation Sauvignon BlancMinerality Rules
Cucumber and Celery Gazpacho, Wild Garlic

This vibrant gazpacho made with cucumber, celery and a hint of citrus sauce, was a refreshing celebration of green, zesty flavours. Topped with yuzu pearls, wild garlic and herb oil, it’s light yet flavourful. The Creation Sauvignon Blanc 2024 paired beautifully, with its crisp minerality and bright citrus notes it enhanced the dish’s freshness. For added depth, the Creation Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon 2023 introduced softer stone fruit tones, making for a layered and harmonious pairing.

Creation Reserve ChardonnayAbsolutely Brilliant Chardonnay
B’Bos Trout, Waterblommetjie, Celeriac

When the finest Riedel Chardonnay glasses are placed before you, you know you are in for a treat. The Creation Reserve Chardonnay 2023 lives up to this promise, delivering a crisp and vibrant experience. Its lively fruity aromas, transition effortlessly onto the palate, creating a balance of freshness and complexity. We were also treated to their Chardonnay 2024 as well as the extraordinary Art of Chardonnay, an indulgent expression of elegance and finesse.

Pairing these elegant Chardonnahs with a curated dish elevated the experience to new heights. The delicately cured Trout was the perfect complement to the Chardonnays and topped with pea shoots and waterblommetjie. The dish was further enriched with a silky celeriac purée, herb sauce and vibrant drops of green oil, which brought a fresh, aromatic touch.

Chapter 3

Creation Reserve Pinot NoirRed Velvet
Overberg Lamb Loin, Kumquat, Sweet Potato, Zucchini, Num-num and Herb Gremolata

This chapter celebrates the allure of Red Velvet, a perfect representation of their Pinot Noir range with perfumed aromas and delicate flavours. The 2023 Reserve Pinot Noir paired beautifully with tender slices of lamb loin, accompanied by sweet potato and miso mash, and a side of spiralised zucchini. The addition of a Num-Num Gremolata, alongside a parsley and thyme gremolata, brought a refreshing herbal lift to the dish.

The salted kumquats offered a surprising yet harmonious twist, marrying all the flavours together. To finish, the dish was elegantly garnished with porcini mushroom dust and delicate violas, adding both visual appeal and a subtle earthiness.

Chapter 4

Creation Syrah, GrenacheOh So Umami
Mung Bean Bobotie, Turmeric and Cashew Nut Custard, Dune Spinach, Spekboom

A creative twist on a classic South African dish, this 100% plant-based mung bean bobotie was elevated by a silky turmeric, coconut and cashew nut custard. The dish was accompanied by a vibrant sundried tomato and dune spinach salsa, alongside a sweet and tangy date, ginger and spekboom chutney.

The Creation Syrah, Grenache 2022 proved to be a perfect match for this umami-rich dish. The wine’s bold yet balanced character, with its ripe red fruit notes and subtle peppery undertones, beautifully complemented the earthy depth of the mung bean bobotie and the spice of the turmeric custard. Its smooth tannins and lively acidity harmonised effortlessly with the sweet and tangy chutney, enhancing every bite.

Chapter 5

Creation ElationPure Joy
Honeybush Milk Tart Affogato, Cinnamon, Peaches, Honeybush Ristretto

The Creation Elation Cap Classique is truly the epitome of Pure Joy, providing a sparkling finish to an exceptional culinary experience. This Cap Classique offers a crisp, vibrant profile, with a delightful exuberance and a refined elegance. It paired beautifully with the indulgent Honeybush Milk Tart Affogato, served alongside perfectly grilled peach slices and a dusting of naartjie zest. The dish’s creamy texture and delicate sweetness were further elevated by the warm spice of cinnamon.

The Creation Elation’s lively bubbles and crisp acidity complemented the richness of the milk tart affogato, cutting through the creamy elements with refreshing clarity. The Cap Classique’s citrus notes and fine mousse worked in harmony with the grilled peaches, while its elegant finish enhanced the subtle floral notes of the honeybush ristretto, making it a perfect match to end on a note of pure joy.
