Celebrate International Shiraz Day With Journey’s End Vineyard Series Shiraz

The 2nd annual International #ShirazWineDay is taking place on 22 July 2021 – a special occasion to celebrate all there is to love about this popular full-bodied red wine, with luscious layers of black and red fruit and savoury spice. Bold, rich and delicious, Shiraz is also an excellent food wine.

With winter in full swing in July, Journey’s End Vineyards invite you to fight off the cold as you explore the delights of their Vineyard Series Shiraz 2017, a distinct example of the estate’s unique terroir. Snuggle up on the couch in front of a roaring fire, and savour a glass of Journey’s End‘s sumptuous Shiraz while you wind down with some Netflix and chill. We might have to postpone this Shiraz Day indulgence until after lockdown, but winter will be with us for some time yet.

Journey’s End Vineyard Series V3 Shiraz 2017

Complex and layered, a fusion of redcurrants, brambleberries, violets and pepper entice the senses, with a touch of smokiness and dark chocolate. Generous oak aging in larger format barrels allows the vineyard character to shine, with great natural acidity and a silky long-lasting finish. Elegant, smooth and rounded with beautifully integrated tannins, enjoy now and until 2029.

Enjoy on its own and with hearty winter dishes like: Beef Bourguignon, Braised Lamb Shanks, Oxtail Stew, Venison Pie, Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs, Beef Steak au Poivre, Barbecue-Glazed Chicken, Baked Chorizo Gnocchi, Wild Mushroom Risotto, Lentil Bolognaise, Pepperoni Pizza and Pasta Carbonara. Also delicious with savoury cheeses like smoked gouda, aged cheddar and Parmigiano-Reggiano as well as blue cheese, and heavenly with some dark chocolate.
