Creation’s latest menu was all about Heritage and celebrating our wonderful diverse cultures with the focus on Healthy. With flavours rich in taste and texture as it is fresh and wholesome. The inspiration for their Healthy Heritage Pairing is what grows together, goes together combined with family recipes and is a delightful fusion of cultures and backgrounds.

Showcasing seasonal and local ingredients from the area inspired by the Cape Maritime Silk Route, the six-course pairing is a celebration of East meets Western Cape inspired dishes all driven by a focus on health and wellbeing.

Wine & Food Pairing


Green Nectar digestion and immunity booster is followed by Chef Abongile’s traditional Umfino. The booster is made from kale, spirulina, turmeric, ginger and lemon juice. Not only is this healthy, but it also improve digestion and in turn reduce inflammation, detoxify, and act as an antioxidant. The Umfino ball was divine and served with Vegan Cream Cheese, Peppadews and Sorrel.

Served with Creation Sauvignon Blanc 2022. Refreshing tropical notes that are complemented by minerality and pairs so well with this Green Nectar and Umfino.

Chapter 1: Resonance

Healthy and sustainable was the inspiration for a dish combining locally foraged Seared Hake served on top of a Pea Puree, Peas, Corn, Cape Gooseberry Dressing and Popcorn.

Perfectly paired with Ocean’s Gift Creation Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon 2020. An inviting salty bouquet is complemented by the fresh tropical fruit flavours from the Sauvignon Blanc and the lovely lanolin-like character from the Semillon. The Semillon is lightly wooded and softens the acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc. The vivacious, green and savoury notes pairs so well with the saltiness of the fish and popcorn!

Chapter 2: Passion

For a journey along the Maritime Silk Route of the 17th Century, we were taken to Japan with a mouthwatering Abalone Sushi made with Avocado, Carrot Gochujang, Sesame Seeds and Rice Vermicelli. The nutrient-rich abalone is farmed in local waters and sustainable and is served on top of a Gochujang Dressing made from red chilli paste that has a paprika-like aroma.

The Creation Viognier, Roussanne 2020 is fruity, aromatic and citrusy and is a match made in heaven with this dish. The Viognier is delightful on the nose showing expressive fruity and floral notes. It’s a vivacious wine, while the Roussanne adds structure, yet creates an elegant and refined wine.

Chapter 3: Alchemy

Classic South African flavours of Springbok, coriander and biltong are the perfect pairing for this Absolutely Brilliant Chardonnay. Springbok Tartare served with Truffle, Gherkin and Potato Chip and dusting of biltong to top it off. So delicious and out of this world!

The Creation Reserve Chardonnay 2021 complements the citrusy notes from the truffle and gherkin elements and the aioli enhances the butteriness of the Chardonnay. Lovely minerality yet sophisticated with attractive fruit and acidity.

Chapter 4: Charisma

It’s all about charisma and a kaleidoscope of flavours with Creation Rosé 2022 and a delicious earthy Confit Sweet Potato Fondant. This dish is served with Garlic Aioli, Black Garlic, Chives, Radish, Pickled Onion and Citrus Buchu.

Garnished with a delicate pink confetti bush flower, the dish pairs perfectly with the colour of the wine which in turn is a superb foil for the savoury, indigenous herbs.

Chapter 5: Déjà Vu

Opposites attract with the sweet and nutty combination of flavours of this dish. Velvety textures of Belnori Goat’s Milk Cheese, served with Butternut and Beetroot. Topped with Mushroom Powder, Crispy Sage, Raspberry and Pomegranate Dressing with micro beetroot leaves on the side.

Pinot Noir with its fragrant and aromatic bouquet of berry aromas is superbly balanced with a lingering, memorable aftertaste. The sensual and earthy textures of this dish complement the aromatic and velvety textures of the forever romantic Creation Pinot Noir 2022.

Chapter 6: Innovation

Peach Rooibos Sorbet and an upside-down Oat Cone are sweet temptations on a nostalgic take on a classic childhood treat. The black Sesame Gelato was divine with a rich nutty and smoky flavour.

Beautifully paired with Creation Fine Cape Vintage 2020 made from Syrah grapes. Aromas of dried apricot and peach. Imagine the lure of honeyed fruit, a hint of black cherry, the lingering reward of star anise.

Every season sees a new, innovative and meticulously crafted adventure. It’s a gluten and lacrose free culinary experience of terroir and local produce.

Every sense is stimulated, with fragrance, touch and texture ready to transport you to an immersive gastronomic experience. There is something for everyone, including vegan-friendly options.
