Luke Dale Roberts Group Of Restaurants Unveils Prix Fixe Menus, Offering Exceptional Value

The Luke Dale Roberts Group of Restaurants, a culinary powerhouse renowned for its innovation and excellence, is introducing prix fixe menus until 31 October 2024 at all of the LDR restaurants.
Commencing on 29 March 2024, and running until the 31 October2024, patrons can relish a delectable multi-course lunch experience at The Pot Luck Club in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, The Shortmarket Club in Rosebank, and TTK Fledgelings in Cape Town, for an extraordinary price of only R450 per person.
SALON restaurant, a new multi-course dining experience by Luke Dale Roberts, is offering a six-course prix fixe menu for lunch and dinner at R795 per person in addition to the signature eleven-course Journey menu.

The Pot Luck Club CT & JHB – A Crowd Favourite Since 2012 (6 courses at R450 per person)

The Pot Luck Club, a pioneer in global-inspired small plates, has been a crowd favourite since its inception in 2012 and paved the way for the small-plate trend, with a menu of punchy flavour-forward Asian-inspired plates, memorable cocktails and animated atmosphere.

The prix fixe lunch menu at PLC Cape Town include:

  • Roosterkoek served with Whipped Butter, Babaganoush, Harissa, Garlic, Marinated Olives.
  • Taco.20 – Linefish, Black Bean Purée, Charred Corn Salsa, Avocado, Chipotle Dressing.
  • Fish Sliders  dressed with Mojo Dressing and Miso Mayo.
  • Smoked Beef Fillet with Black Pepper & Truffle Café au Lait.
  • Chickpea and Goats Cheese and Parmesan Fries served with Truffle Aioli & Smoked Ketchup.
  • PLC Sweets Board with Nougat, Salted Chocolate Caramel, Macaroon and Mochi.

The prix fixe lunch menu at PLC JHB include:

  • Ciabatta, Smoked Butter, Marinated Olives.
  • Fish Sliders  dressed with Mojo Dressing and Miso Mayo.
  • Peri Peri Chicken, Ajo Blanco, Kale & Pepper Salad, Braai Vinaigrette
  • Smoked Beef Fillet with Black Pepper & Truffle Café au Lait.
  • Chickpea and Goats Cheese and Parmesan Fries served with Truffle Aioli & Smoked Ketchup.
  • PLC Sweets Board with Nougat, Salted Chocolate Caramel, Macaroon and Mochi.

The Shortmarket Club – European Elegance with Asian Influences (5 courses at R450 per person)

In Johannesburg, The Shortmarket Club offers an upmarket European-style brasserie, presenting modern European cuisine with subtle Asian influences.

The prix fixe lunch menu include:

  • Ciabatta served with smoked butter and wild garlic oil.  
  • Thai Sashimi with Pad Thai Dressing, Nuoc Chom, Coconut Yoghurt and Togarashi Mayo.  
  • Beef Tartare with Gochujang Dressing, Truffle Mayo and Brioche.
  • Assiette of Pork comprising of Roasted Pork Loin, Smoked Onion purée, Bourbon Jus.
  • Dulce Molten Lava with Chocolate Fondant, Peanut Butter Ice Cream and Peanut Brittle.

SALON – Journey Around the World (6 courses at R795 per person)

Salon Restaurant is a new multi-course dining journey by Luke Dale Roberts where guests can experience his take on signature dishes.  Drawing inspiration from countries Luke has travelled to and worked in and ingredients that are intriguing to both him and Executive Chef Carla Schulze, they have created a small, focused, and interactive culinary experience.  Guests can look forward to the following prix fixe menu:

  • MEXICO) Chipotle Tuna Caesar – Chipotle Dressing, Smoked Pineapple, Coriander Snow, Tamale.  
  • (ENGLAND) Cheese & Pickle sandwich.
  • (JAPAN) Dumpling – chicken, mushrooms, dashi
  • (FRANCE) Duck Suzette – 7 day aged duck, citrus emulsion, duck jus
  • (KOREA) Beef “Kalbi”- Fillet, Chestnut & Shiitake Rice, Mirin Tea, Ssamjang, Kimchi, Ponzu. 
  • (FRANCE) Madeleine – poached quince, chestnut ice cream, coffee meringue

TTK Fledgelings – A Restaurant and Training Ground   (5courses at R450 per person)

Formerly home to the renowned restaurant The Test Kitchen, TTK Fledgelings was established with a clear mission: to provide individuals without formal chef or guest service training, but with unwavering passion, the chance to build a career in hospitality. Fledgelings undergo hands-on training in a professional restaurant environment, Expect a refined yet approachable prix fixe lunch menu:

  • Magwinya – Smoked Snoek Pâte.
  • Bouillabaisse – Hake, Mussels, Prawn, Rouille.
  • Kudu Bresaola with Truffle & Garlic Emulsion, Parmesan Shavings and Red Wine Pickled Mushrooms and Chickpea Croutons.  
  • Pork Belly with Thai style Butternut Broth, Papaya Salad and Toasted Coconut Flakes.
  • Pear Dessert with Red Wine & Muscadel Poached Pear, Vanilla Ice Cream and Cinnamon Crumb.
    All menus are subject to change without notice.  Vegetarian and Pescatarian Menus are available.  No Vegan, Alcohol or Alliummfree menus are available.
